Welcome
Finding the right fit to support you can be daunting. Perhaps you have sought out counselling in the past, but struggled to connect or to feel understood. Maybe assumptions were made about you or your story that prevented your own truths from emerging.
In my trauma informed approach, a safe and trusting relationship is built with you at the center. As we build a relationship, I will be curious about your values, perspectives, and boundaries, and honour your unique wisdom in what you most need in your healing journey.
I understand the many often untold ways harmful experiences and environments can impact us, our relationships, and ways of being. I will support you in resisting shame about these impacts while we bring forth your preferred sense of self and connection to your body and emotions in the here and now.
Supporting folks navigating life and identity transition is a particular passion to me, with a focus for supporting young adult development and gender exploration. I have significant experience and love working with people who use substances, queer and trans identifying folks, people impacted by interpersonal trauma, and youth and young adults.

About me
My name is Jess and I live, work and play on the unceded ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. I am an uninvited settler to this land and my ancestors are Ukrainian, Irish, Scottish, and Danish. I identify as a white, able-bodied, cis-gendered, queer female.
I am a warm, friendly, and silly person and enjoy getting outdoors for a bike, hike, or camp and cooking and enjoying delicious things. As with many people, my life has been touched by intergenerational trauma and I have found great nourishment and healing in sharing my story to trusted counsellors and confidantes. It is my honour to carry that torch for others needing connection and support.
In my professional life, I graduated with my MSW from the University of Toronto in 2018 and have worked in a variety of counselling and mental health support roles in health care, non-profit, and private practice settings. Outside of private practice, I work as a concurrent disorders counsellor in a mental health rehabilitation program with Vancouver Coastal Health.
I am a registered mental health provider with the First Nations Health Authority and have completed the San'yas Indigenous Cultural Safety Training. I am honoured to learn from and support Indigenous clients in my current practice and in multiple prior settings
I am accepting virtual clients across BC and Ontario and in person clients in Vancouver (office in Gastown). My working days are Thursdays (virtual) and Fridays (in person and virtual).
